The book of Proverbs was written by Solomon, and he begins with the urgent appeal to listen, and it follows with an admonition to the one lacking wisdom to obey.
Wisdom begins with the Fear of the Lord. Solomon associates knowledge to wisdom. You can’t be wise if you don’t know the Lord, if you don’t fear the Lord.
Godly wisdom demands relationship that lead to the knowledge of God, taking Him seriously, listening, trusting and obeying.
Godly wisdom demands worship that entails reverent fear and love.
The Fear of the Lord is the foundation of all wisdom.
Let us pray and ask the Lord for wisdom, but remember God only answers prayers in His terms, not ours.
