God’s kingship is to be rejoiced (Psalm 149)

Here the psalmist focuses on the Kingship of God. He commands us to praise the Lord our Maker, to rejoice in our king, to praise His name for His excellent reputation.

The way Israel responds is amazing. They dance, they sing praises with timbrel and lyre.

The idea is that there has always been a remnant of God’s people focused in seeing Him high and lifted up.

Israel understood that praise glorifies God, but it fills our hearts. It actually satisfies our souls.

Let us remember that when we worship, when we praise, we are actually doing what we were created to do and to be. It satisfies us.
