This psalm is a hymn of praise without lament. The writer continues to ponder on the various expressions of God’s concern for His people (Israel)- and at the same time he encourages Israel to respond to God in praise.
The Lord is to be praised for His merciful care. He heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds. The Lord is also to be praised for his sovereignty. He counts the numbers of the stars and gives names to all of them.
Great is our Lord and abundant in strength. His understanding is infinite. He is worthy to be praised. he can be depended upon to keep His promises and care for the afflicted.
Of all the things god has done to display his faithfulness and care, He has given us His word. It is the most significant thing. As we study His word, let us remember the gift it actually is. It is enough to encourage, discipline and nourish our lives.
