June 5 2017 – Be in awe of God’s Word, under attack.

Psalm 119 verse 161 says:

161 Princes persecute me without a cause,
But my heart stands in awe of Your word.

The psalmist speaks of being persecuted, of being under attack, and yet even then being in awe of God’s Word.

When we are attacked by fear, doubt, anxiety, whatever it may be, often we are in awe of the things that attack us. They overwhelm us, influence and dominate us. We must learn like the psalmist to be in awe of God’s Word and its truth, even when under attack. To let it be the thing that awes us, influences us, impresses us and holds sway over us even fears, doubts or anxieties press in.

Be in awe of God’s Word, under attack.
