Habakkuk 2:4 says:
4 “Behold the proud,
His soul is not upright in him;
But the just shall live by his faith.
This verse states the clear distinction and difference between pride and faith, that they are polar opposites. Pride is contrasted to faith and it says the just (or the right or righteous) shall live by his faith.
So we may conclude that when ever we exercise faith we are doing the opposite to being prideful, we are acting with humility and the reason for that is that every time we exercise faith we are choosing God’s opinion over our own, God’s word over our word, His truth over our truth, which embraces God and is an invitation of Him closer into our lives.
Faith exercised and expressed is an act of humility that draws God nearer to us.
This verse says we live by our faith, we enjoy more of God and His life by our faith, because faith expresses humility which embraces God and invites Him closer into our lives.
