Micah 7 verse 8 says:
8 Do not rejoice over me, my enemy;
When I fall, I will arise;
When I sit in darkness,
The Lord will be a light to me.
As this verse describes, we have an enemy who gloats, who plays dirty, rejoicing over us when we fall, kicking us when we’re down.
For that reason we must be especially on guard when we fall, fail. At that point our enemy will move in to add insult to injury in the hope of discouraging us to the point of giving up.
When we experience the pain and darkness of failure, remember “The Lord will be a light” to us. We must intentionally reach out for, take hold of His light, His truth, His Word, because the enemy will do all he can at that point to blind us to that light and keep us in darkness and despair.
In darkness, intentionally take hold of the light of the Lord.
