Hosea 8:7 speaking of Israel and the sin she walked in, says this:
7 “They sow the wind,
And reap the whirlwind…”
Sin’s nature has not changed. When we sin, chose our own way rather than God’s, we sow the wind and reap the whirlwind.
The wrong we do comes back on us as a much greater wrong. The consequences of our actions are bigger than the act itself. That is the nature of sin and why God so hates sin and counsels us to stay away from it.
He knows we actually don’t know what we’re getting ourselves into. We think we’ll sow the wind and reap the wind….but no….we sow the wind and reap the whirlwind.
