Psalm 77 verses 19 says:
19 Your way was in the sea,
Your path in the great waters,
And Your footsteps were not known.
These 3 lines speak to the “mystery” there is in following God. His way is “in the sea” and ” in the great waters”. Those routes are not where we would naturally travel, they are not the paths we would naturally chose to go in. The sea and great waters are threatening, threatening to drown us.
So as the last line says, God’s footsteps, His ways of working and leading in our life often are “not known” to us, we don’t with our natural mind understand them. As Isaiah 55: 9 says, His ways are “higher” than our ways and His thoughts than our thoughts.
So lets trust God even when His footsteps are “not known” to us.
