Psalm 29 verse 3 & 4 says:
3 The voice of the Lord is over the waters;
The God of glory thunders;
The Lord is over many waters.
4 The voice of the Lord is powerful;
The voice of the Lord is full of majesty.
We’re told….” The voice of the Lord is over the waters “.
Those words remind me of the disciples on the lake, in the boat with Jesus, when he calmed the storm with his voice (Luke 8:22-25). Stormy waters speak to me of our mind, soul and emotions when they are troubled, stirred by anxiety and fear.
Psalm 29 verse 3 reminds us that at such times God wants us to let His voice be “over the waters”. He wants us to hear His voice and let it influence and calm our stormy waters, our troubled soul, because as verse 4 says, His voice is powerful & full of majesty, as Jesus’ voice was powerful when it calmed the storm his disciples were in.
When there are stormy waters in your life, let God’s voice be over the waters.
