March 6 2017 – We may be “shut up”, but God’s Word never is.

Jeremiah 39 verse 15 says:

15 Meanwhile the word of the Lord had come to Jeremiah while he was shut up in the court of the prison, saying….

We’re told God’s word came to Jeremiah while he was shut up in the court of the prison. The court of the prison may not have been the prison but close enough and Jeremiah was “shut up”. Jeremiah’s circumstances were not optimal, desirable, were less than ideal, yet God’s word came to him there.

This is a reminder to us, that whatever our circumstances or situation in life, however “shut up”, limited we are by difficult, dire circumstances, God’s word is never “shut up” or limited. We are never where God’s word can’t reach us, and it is when we are “shut up” we especially need it, the life, light and hope it gives us.

We may be “shut up”, but God’s Word never is.
