Jeremiah 7 verses 13 & 25 make an interesting comment about God. They say:
Verse 13: And now, because you have done all these works,” says the Lord, “and I spoke to you, rising up early and speaking, but you did not hear, and I called you, but you did not answer…
Verse 25: Since the day that your fathers came out of the land of Egypt until this day, I have even sent to you all My servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them.
God told His people twice that He rose up early to speak, to communicate with them. We rise up early for what is important to us, what is priority. It was important to God, priority, to speak to His people. God hasn’t changed, He still rises up early to speak to us, its important, priority to Him. If God rises up early to speak to us, the least we can do is rise up early to listen and speak to Him.
For many that will be literal, reflected in rising up early while the house and day are quiet, before the busyness of the day, to hear from God and speak to Him, pour their hearts out to Him.
Whether it involves literally rising early or doing it at some other time, lets make God’s priority our priority. Lets rise up early to speak, to the God who rises up early to speak to us.
Lets rise up early to meet with God, make it priority.
