The psalmist says in Psalm 77:19
19 Your path led through the sea,
your way through the mighty waters,
though your footprints were not seen.
Who ever heard of a path through the sea, or a way through mighty waters ? Paths and ways are usually are on dry land, not in or on water, that’s impossible. And yet we know, that’s exactly what God did for the children of Israel when He led them through the Red Sea, He made a path through the sea, a way through the mighty waters. He did the impossible, the miraculous.
The psalmist goes on to say ” though your footprints were not seen”. God led the children of Israel but they could not see His footprints, in other words His methods and ways of working were beyond their natural senses, beyond their understanding.
God leads in our life today, just as He led the children of Israel. He leads us through the impossible, through what to us is insurmountable. By His strength, He makes a path for us through the sea, a way through mighty waters. And we don’t see His footprints. We don’t understand how He does it, we just enjoy and experience the benefits, getting to the other side of the impossibility we face.
Our job is not to understand, but simply to trust Him, to follow and trust Him, while He makes….a path through the sea that we don’t understand.
