October 14th 2016 – hope continually.

The Psalmist says in Psalm 71:14:

But I will hope continually,

What is hope ? The Dictionary says “to cherish a desire of good with some expectation of fulfilment”. The psalmist hoped continually.

As Christians our hope goes beyond the Dictionary definition. We can not only cherish, highly value a desire for good, we can be convinced of it.

Convinced of it in this life.

We can be convinced of the good outcome we desire in a situation as we exercise and grow in faith based on God’s Word, what He has said, His promises to us, such as when we believe for some one to be healed, because God has said ” I am the Lord that heals you “, Exodus 15:26. It gives us hope.

We can be convinced of good coming out of and within any situation based on the promise that, ” ALL things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose”, Romans 8:28. Whatever happens in a situation, as we love God and pursue His purpose in our life we can stand firmly on this truth, be convinced that God will bring good out of and in every situation we walk through. It gives us hope.

We have hope not only in this life but also related to the next. We know the end of the story. That the day is coming when we will be removed from the presence of sin and its effects, when we will be with God in heaven and He will wipe away ever tear from our eyes and there will be no more death, nor sorrow, nor pain, nor crying, as we’re told in Revelation 21:4. All will be perfect as we desire it to be.It gives us hope.

As God’s children we of all people can always be convinced of a good out come in any situation, like the psalmist we can….hope continually.
