We thought yesterday about our lives magnifying God, being good magnifying glasses! Today’s Psalm takes this thought a step further. David says in verse 27 of Psalm 35:
27 Let them shout for joy and be glad,
Who favor my righteous cause;
And let them say continually,
“Let the Lord be magnified,
Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.”
In this verse, David makes a link between God being magnified and Him having pleasure in and prospering His servant.
Our goal is to be servants of God as Jesus was. The fact of the matter is if we are living as servants of God should, we will magnify God. God takes pleasure in, prospers and blesses whatever magnifies Him, so He will then take pleasure in us and prosper and bless us, as this Psalm talks about, which in turn means He is magnified even more.
In short God magnifies those who magnify Him.
Our life’s purpose is to magnify God. It’s why He made us and we only have that capacity because we are made in His image. When we magnify God we fulfill His will.
When we fulfill His will, He takes pleasure in us, prospers and blesses us, He magnifies us, which results in Him being further magnified.
So, we magnify Him, He magnifies us !
