In Deuteronomy 6:23 Moses says to the people, speaking of God:
23 Then He brought us out from there (Egypt), that He might bring us in, to give us the land of which He swore to our fathers.
The children of Israel were brought out of Egypt, out of slavery and bondage, to be brought into something, somewhere, the Promised Land, the land of milk and honey.
The same is true of us today. Christ did not come to only save us out of Egypt. To only deliver us from sin and its bondage. He saves us out of Egypt to take us into the Promised Land, to enjoy and experience the milk and honey there. We have been saved out of sin into a new life in Christ victorious over sin and walking in all that Christ calls us to, with the freedom and blessings that that brings.
Ephesians 2:8-10 brings this out:
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
We are saved by grace through faith. Through faith in Christ’s death for us we are brought out of sin and the slavery and bondage it brings. Sin and its slavery and bondage are Egypt. We are saved out of that to be God’s workmanship, expressing His good works, prepared before hand that we should walk in them, by the power He provides. That brings joy, freedom and blessing into our life, which is the Promised Land.
God brings us out of slavery in Egypt, to bring us into the the milk and honey of the Promised land.
