May 2nd 2016-where we’re planted determines where we flourish.

Psalm 92, verse 13 says:

13 Those who are planted in the house of the Lord
Shall flourish in the courts of our God.

Those who are planted in the house of God, are those who have put down their roots in God and His Word. They draw their strength and life from Him. As a result they flourish in His courts.

God’s courts are a place where God and what He represents is valued, and those who deem Him to be important gather there. Those planted in the house of the Lord flourish there because they gain strength from others who are like minded and like hearted. There they have a contribution to make, and in making it they further flourish being blessed as they bless others. The courts of God are a place where they are comfortable, at home and from which they benefit.

The courts of God speak to me of the church. If we are planted in God, have our roots in Him, we will flourish in the church, because in the church what God represents is valued and those who deem Him to be important gather there. We’ll flourish from being with others who are like minded and like hearted. There we’ll have a contribution to make, blessing others and in turn being blessed. There we’ll be comfortable, at home and benefit from what it’s all about.

If we are planted somewhere other than the house of the Lord, if we draw our strength and life from something else, we wont flourish in the church. We’ll be like a fish out of water. The church will be uncomfortable, unfamiliar and it will fail to nurture us because….

…..where we are planted determines where we flourish.
